Newsmakers: Manmohan and Pam asked to clean house

Manmohan Singh

The ongoing 2G scam is reaching a hitherto unseen level of crescendo after new revelations emerged this week.

New allegations claim that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may have personally known about the misdeeds of the 2G auction, its suppression for over a year and the attempt to bury the scam to protect the UPA's interests.

Although the PMO has denied all allegations and promised that the PM will soon address the nation regarding these claims, many feel that his prolonged silence is not only surprising but also indicates his culpability.

With the Opposition causing chaos in the Parliament, the Supreme Court (in response to a case filed by Janata Party President Subramanium Swamy) demanding an explanation and reports of "arm-twisting" by parliamentary partner DMK in the media, the PM is literally swamped from all fronts.

All the demands have the same common theme - Politeness is undoubtedly an admirable trait to possess but right now the nation, humiliated and enraged, needs him to step up and prove that he is truly the leader of India.
