No curfew but Jammu still tense

Jammu: Although curfew was lifted on Tuesday (July 29, 2008) from the Jammu and adjoining areas, the region yet again witnessed protest rallies demanding removal of Governor N N Vohra and restoration of forest land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).

`The situation is tense but the curfew has been lifted as there have been no reports of any untoward incident,` Deputy Commissioner of Police Mandeep K Bandari told PTI.
