Notorious criminal arrested

New Delhi: Most wanted Sandeep Parmar, who was allegedly involved in more than 15 cases of extortion, robbery and murder, was finally arrested from Dwarka in southwest Delhi.

Police said the accused is 31-year-old and belong to the notorious Ashok Rathi gang. Police also found a sophisticated pistol, and a Hyundai Accent car from his possession.

The vehicle was stolen from Chandigarh with a fake registration number plate of Delhi.

Police officials said that the accused was arrested following a tip-off that some criminals from Haryana were trying to set-up base in Dwarka to extort money from local property dealers and builders.

According to police, Parmar was wanted in more than six cases of kidnapping, robbery and attempt to murder in the city and a local court had also declared him as a proclaimed offender.

Additional commissioner of police (crime) Neeraj Thakur said that he was also involved in more than 15 criminal cases in Delhi and Haryana.

Parmar hails from Bhiwani in Haryana and was allegedly involved in three cases of attempt to murder inside Bhondsi jail.

Parmar and his aides had also looted Rs 17 lakh from a petrol pump in Rewari in 2005.

After coming in touch with Hemant Sharma, Parmar entered the world of crime. He used to extort money from property dealers in Gurgaon and was trying to set up base in Dwarka after establishing contacts with his old associates.​
