A majority of Americans believe that President Barack Obama will 'make a sincere effort to work with the Republicans in Congress to find mutually acceptable solutions to the nation's problems', a new poll has found.
According to the Gallup Poll, nearly 65 percent Americans said that Obama would make a bipartisan effort to solve the nation's problems.
The poll found that nearly 57 percent of respondents said the same about congressional Democrats, while 48 percent voiced the same confidence in congressional Republicans, CBS News reports.
A similar poll from Gallup in 2009, at the beginning of Obama's first term, found even higher hopes for bipartisanship.
In 2009, nearly 80 percent of respondents predicted that Obama would strive to be bipartisan, while 59 percent expected bipartisanship from congressional Democrats, and 62 percent expected the same from congressional Republicans, the report added. (ANI)
