Oil spill creates 'huge mess' on Mumbai beaches

Environmentalists have expressed concern over the damage the oil spill has caused to some of the beaches off the coast of Mumbai and neighbouring Raigad.

An alarming level of oil has been found in the sand in some of the beaches in Mumbai and Raigad districts following the spill caused by the collision of two merchant vessels off the coast here on August 7, they said.
