Kolkata, Feb 16 (IANS) Describing as "wrong and divisive" some comments made by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah after the recent execution of parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, the BJP Saturday said it would only "encourage separatists".
"The Jammu and Kashmir chief minister's comments in my view are very wrong. And it is divisive. It will encourage separatists," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Murli Manohar Joshi told a media meet here.
Abdullah, in an interview published in a newspaper last Monday, said Guru's execution may increase the "sense of alienation" in the youth in Kashmir. He also said they may "identify with Afzal Guru".
