The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway re-opened on Sunday for one way vehicular traffic after remaining blocked for almost two days following the continuous heavy snowfall in the Kashmir valley.
According to officials, all the Srinagar bound vehicles stranded at various places are being allowed towards their destinations smoothly this morning.
The 294-km arterial highway, the only all-weather road link between Kashmir and rest of the country, was closed since Friday due to heavy snowfall near Jawahar tunnel and landslides at various places.
The snowfall in the valley has affected normal life as electricity supply has been snapped while many roads in the rural areas have been blocked. (ANI)
