Operation 'cover-up' continues in full swing in UP
Workmen carting truckloads of cloth raced on Monday to comply with election regulations. India’s Election Commission said the massive statues of Mayawati, who uses one name and is a hero to the country's lowest castes, were built using public money and their display violated the rules for next month's election in her Uttar Pradesh.
The statues of the elephants are being covered with pink polythene, while Mayawati statues will be covered with cloth.
