When the Unites Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and former US vice-president Al Gore win this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, an Indian also comes to the limelight. Dr Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, who is chairman of the IPCC, hails from Nainital. A vegetarian and a staunch champion for the cause of saving the Earth from the impacts global warming, Pachauri is a winner of India government’s Padma Bhushan.
