Karachi: Fifteen Indian fishermen were released from a prison here on Sunday as a goodwill gesture.
Reports said those released travelled by bus to Lahore. From there, they would be sent to Wagah border where they would be handed over to Indian authorities.
The fishermen had been arrested on charges of violating Pakistan's maritime boundary.
There are 149 Indian fishermen lodged at Malir district prison and seven of them have been there for at least 18 months, said Dawn newspaper.
"The Indian government is yet to confirm their nationalities," the newspaper quoted Amir Baig, a clerk at the jail, as saying.
