Panel for sanitation workers gets extension

New Delhi, Feb 21 (IANS) The cabinet Thursday extended National Commission for Safai Karamcharis' tenure for three years beyond April 1 for welfare of workers and addressing the problem of manual scavenging at a cost of Rs.11.5 crore, said a statement.

Eradication of manual scavenging is a high priority for the government, it said.
