New Delhi, Nov 27 (IANS) State−owned chopper operator Pawan Hans, in association with Uttar Pradesh tourism, is planning helicopter services to places of Buddhist interest.

The civil aviation ministry in a statement Tuesday said Pawan Hans recently conducted a detailed study in Uttar Pradesh to connect destinations in the Buddhist circuit by helicopter services in the near future.

Pawan Hans launched its first service between Vrindavan and New Delhi Monday.

"In Delhi, the service will be available from Indira Gandhi International Airport terminal 1−D. The one−way ticket per passenger will be Rs.3,900 and return fare is kept as Rs.7,000," the statement said.

Currently, Pawan Hans has a mix fleet of about 50 choppers that caters to clients from diverse sectors.

The company is successfully operating chopper services to several pilgrim centres, including Mata Vaishno Devi, Kedarnath, Badrinath and Amarnath.

It is also operating services in Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Lakshadweep, and plans to start services in Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh shortly.
