Petrol prices have been increased by Rs. 1. 40 per litre.
The revised rate will come into effect from Friday midnight.
Petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs. 70.74 per litre, while in Mumbai it will cost Rs. 77.66 per litre.
The new rate of petrol in Chennai will be Rs. 73.95 per litre, while in Kolkata it will be Rs. 78.34 per litre
The rates have been revised following the rise in international oil prices and depreciation in rupee. The previous petrol price hike was Rs. Rs 1.50 per litre, excluding VAT, on February 16.
The latest increase in petrol prices has drawn sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the common man of the country.
The BJP has condemned this hike after the Union Budget and demanded an immediate rollback. (ANI)
