It`s a cosmic clash, a space squabble, a mutiny in the Milky Way. Pluto, beloved by some as a cosmic underdog but scorned by astronomers who considered it too dinky and distant, was unceremoniously stripped of its seven-decade-old status as a planet. The world`s leading astronomers voted on Pluto being newly classified and called as `Dwarf Planet`.
In pic: NASA`s Hubble Space Telescope shows two new moons around Pluto. The ex-planet is in the centre and Charon, the largest of Pluto`s three moons, is just below it. Charon is no longer under consideration for any special designation. (AP/NASA)
