Powerful bomb recovered in Assam

Goalpara: A powerful bomb hidden in a bag was found near National Highway 37 in Assam's Goalpara district today, police said.

Security personnel found the bomb during patrol at Haldapara adjacent to NH 37 close to the area where a bomb exploded on July 31 killing an army man and injuring six others.

According to intelligence reports, a group of seven ULFA militants have entered the district to carry out subversive activities in the run up to the Independence Day.
