Lucknow, March 9 (IANS) Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Saturday met the widow and family of slain Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Zia-ul-Haq at their ancestral village in Deoria in Uttar Pradesh.
Sources said Rahul Gandhi condemned the DSP's killing and assured all support to the family.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Saturday stepped up its probe into the killing of Haq, Bilapur village pradhan Nanhe Yadav and his brother Suresh Yadav during violence at Balipur village in Pratapgarh district late Saturday.
CBI sleuths took over all documents connected to the four FIR's lodged in the triple murder. They also reconstructed the scene of crime and interrogated the policemen who deserted Haq and fled the scene of violence.
The CBI is likely to question Kunda legislator and former state minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh a.k.a. Raja Bhaiyya next week, sources said.
Haq's widow Parveen has accused Raja Bhaiyya of conspiring to kill her husband.
