The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO), the Muslim Girls Association and some other Muslim organisations in Hyderabad ran a campaign to 'educate' youth against following the western culture.
The SIO observed the day as "chastity day".
Standing at few public places, the members of city unit of SIO displayed placards carrying slogans like, 'Chastity is priceless' and 'Let's struggle for cultural independence'.
The Muslim Girls Association said it had been running a campaign in the city for the last few days, 'cautioning' youth against the 'pitfalls of imitating' the west.
