Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Thursday said he is not aware that the Delhi Police have asked young women to return home early in their notices placed outside educational institutions here.

The South Delhi Police on Thursday placed notices outside educational institutions here where one suggestion said girls should go ´straight´ to their homes from schools and colleges, media reports said.
The Delhi Police, however, said the notices were placed by the South Delhi Police as an ´awareness drive´ and they have not authorized the signs.
Pertinently, the nation witnessed a massive uproar over over the gruesome gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman on a moving bus in Delhi last month as the victim succumbed to her injuries later.
