Shiv Sena workers and supporters staged a protest here at Mumbai Hockey Association's stadium against the participation of four Pakistani players in upcoming Hockey India League (HIL), as part of the 'Mumbai Magicians' team.

Mumbai Magicians, a franchise of HIL, has signed up Pakistani players- Mahmood Rashid, Fareed Ahmed, Muhammad Tousiq and Imran Butt.

The protest led to cancellation of the scheduled practice session for which the four players had arrived in the city early this morning.

The protest came after ceasefire violation across the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector in Jammu and Kashmir in which two Indian soldiers were allegedly killed by Pakistan army on January 8, and one of them was found with his head severed, resulting in heavy cross-fire across the border from both the sides.
