India this week paid tribute to former prime minister, Indira Gandhi, on the 20th anniversary of her assassination. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, led tributes at her memorial and attended prayers at the residence where she was killed by her Sikh bodyguards in 1984. But for many, the anniversary evoked bloody memories of the anti-Sikh violence that erupted after her death. AFP
