SpiceJet to start three new international services

New Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS) Budget carrier SpiceJet will expand its international network with flights on three new routes.

The low cost carrier (LCC) Monday said it will open three new sectors Kochi−Male, Kochi−Dubai and Dubai−Ahmedabad.

"We continue expanding our network on domestic as well as on international routes and decision to add three new routes is a another step on this programme," said Neil Mills, chief executive officer, SpiceJet.

"All of these three new routes are popular routes and customers can now enjoy affordable flights."

The LCC said that the bookings for tickets on these routes are now open and that Kochi−Male route will commence from Nov 29, 2012.

While flights on Kochi−Dubai and Ahmedabad−Dubai sector will commence from Dec 5 and 19 respectively.

The airline would be deploying Bombardier Q400 aircraft on Kochi−Male route that can accommodate 78 passengers.

On the other two routes, the airline said it will deploy Boeing 737−800 aircraft which have a capacity of 189 passengers each.

With the new routes the airline's international destinations will increase to five.

Currently, the company operates to Kathmandu, Colombo, Kabul and Dubai.
