In Assam, there are the Asom Gana Parishad, the Bodoland People's Front, and the All India United Democratic Front.
In Sikkim, there is the Sikkim Democratic Front that has been governing the state since 1994.
In Nagaland is the Nagaland People's Front, which heads the government there.
In Meghalaya there is former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma who has most recently founded the Nationalist People's Party.
The Congress heads the governments in Assam, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Manipur.
The CPI(M) heads the Tripura government.
Five parties have a member each in the current Lok Sabha.
