Students demand justice for girl found dead in friend's house in Hyderabad

Students of the Osmania University here, took to streets on Wednesday, demanding justice for a 23-year-old girl and fellow student, who was found dead at her male friend's house on December 31.

The girl was found dead at the house of a 29-year-old student, S Shiva Kumar, studying in the same university, who is absconding since the incident.

The students under the banner of 'Osmania University Joint Action Committee' staged a protest march and demanded immediate arrest of the absconding boy.

Krishank, Spokesperson, Osmania University Joint Action Committee, said: "She has been murdered by a person called Shiva Kumar, who is being suspected by the police. He is absconding since four days but the police have failed to nab him. They say that so many teams and groups have been formed but they have failed in arresting that boy."

"We demand that the Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy (Andhra Pradesh) to speak about it now and they have to condemn this incident and see that this accused has to be arrested as soon as possible. He (accused) should be awarded the same punishment that would be announced for the Delhi rape accused," said Krishank.

The girl's body was recovered by Shiva's parents, who returned from their native village on Monday night and found hear dead in their house.

According to latest media reports, the police said that there was no indication of sexual assault; however, the autopsy report of the girl has revealed that she was four months pregnant. (ANI)
