Fearless Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara has staked his claim for a world record -- after riding a killer 90-feet wave which has been dubbed the largest wave ever surfed.
The 44-year-old veteran surfer rode the "unusually" large wave off the coast of Praia do Norte in Portugal.
He was surfing as part of a research expedition to understand why waves in that region hit such enormous heights.
