Mystery man of TN politics
If Ajantha Mendis is Sri Lanka's mystery spinner in cricket, Rajinikanth is Tamil Nadu's 'mystery man' in politics.
One of his best punchlines (Rajni's fans keenly await his one-liners) sums up the superstar's approach - 'Naan engey eppadi varuvaennnu yaarukkum theriyaadhu' (No one nows how or when I will appear on the scene).
Every newspaper, every magazine and every TV channel is keen to know Rajni's stand ahead of the 2011 elections in Tamil Nadu.
In previous elections, all of them would wait for Rajni's Voice - a byte of Rajni indicating who should be voted to power.
It is no different this time around too.
