The third Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh inaugurated the third Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Mumbai on January 7. In his inaugural address, he announced that the government had decided to give dual citizenship to all overseas Indians who had migrated from the country after January 26, 1950. He said the government would simplify the procedure for registration of People of Indian Origin for granting them dual citizenship. AFP
