New Delhi: Thousands of Congress party workers were still pouring in at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital where the party held a huge rally Sunday to support the government's economic reforms and policies.
"Around 2,000 buses ferried party supporters at the gathering," a party worker told IANS.
Party supporters converged at Ramlila Maidan for the rally from Haryana, Rajasthan and other nearby states.
Fearing congestion, traffic police specified routes to avoid till afternoon. This included National Highway-8, Dhaula Kuan Ring Road, Ashram Chowk and Sarai Kale Khan.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi addressed the rally.
