Three ministers of state get cabinet rank

New Delhi: The ministerial reshuffle on Sunday saw three ministers of state being elevated to the cabinet rank while some junior ministers getting independent charge of new ministries.

Two ministers of state (independent charge) also have been elevated to the cabinet rank.

The ministers elevated are:

Dinsha J. Patel, minister of state for mines (independent charge), elevated as cabinet minister for mines.

Ajay Maken, minister of state (independent charge) for youth affairs and sports, promoted as cabinet minister for housing and urban poverty alleviation.

M.M. Pallam Raju, minister of state for defence, moved up as cabinet minister for human resource development.

Ashwani Kumar, minister of state for planning, elevated as cabinet minister for law and justice.

Harish Rawat, minister of state for agriculture and parliamentary affairs, moved up as cabinet minister for water resources.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, minister of state for commerce and industry, promoted as minister of state (independent charge) for power.

Sachin Pilot, minister of state for communications and information technology, made minister of state (independent charge) for corporate affairs.

Bharatsinh Solanki, minister of state for railways, made minister of state (independent charge) for drinking water and sanitation.

K.H. Muniappa, minister of state for railways, made minister of state (independent charge) for micro, small and medium enterprises.
