The Prime Minister finally came on TV to address the nation, more than two days after protests against the Delhi gang rape reached a peak. But his speech ("Anger is justified, violence is not") seems to have done more harm than good. At the end of the speech, the Prime Minister was heard muttering 'Theek Hai' to the camera person, leading to even more outrage on the social networks.

And this is what Twitter users had to say on the subject:

#TheekHai Is Manmohan Singh just a piece of furniture? Maybe, but he is of good quality. Teak Hai.
Malay Lakhani @malaylakhani
When PM asks even a camera man for approval of a simple statment? .. How can he take a strong decision for country on his own? :P #TheekHai
Kushan Mitra @kushanmitra
Not a single resignation of anyone in a position of power. Just a few suspended constables. #TheekHai
SonaliRanade @sonaliranade
He came. He spoke. India walked out. #TheekHai

Manmohan silence was more powerful than his speech! Made himself a comedy piece! Sorry PM, its ur mistake #theekhai
Sagarika Ghose @sagarikaghose
Sorry, but PM's speech was without feeling, wooden and totally unequal to the situation. The "theek hai" at the end revealed it as theatre!
