The US Global AIDS Coordinator Ambassador, Eric Goosby, is on a three-day visit to India this week to recognise the successful health partnership between the two nations.
During his trip from May 1 to 4, Goosby will be meeting key government officials in the health sector, development partners, donor agencies, non-government organisations, and academic institutions to see first-hand the important work being done to fight HIV/AIDS in India.
He will also be visiting field programmes and meet with health officials in Hyderabad and Varanasi besides New Delhi.
Goosby leads all U.S. Government international HIV/AIDS efforts as the United States Global AIDS Coordinator.
In this role, he oversees implementation of the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), as well as U.S. Government engagement with the global fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. (ANI)
