The visit of the American nuclear warship USS Nimitz to Chennai hastriggered panic and opposition. Though the United States Consulate in Chennai sought to allay apprehensions over possible nuclear radiation, the Left parties and the AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa are unconvinced.
