Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sultan Ahmed on Friday slammed Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for allegedly instigating Congress workers who ransacked the district magistrate's bungalow at Murshidabad district in West Bengal on Thursday.
Ahmed said such an incident ´never happened in Bengal before´.
He said Chowdhury had done ´a lot of vandalism´ before this incident.
"This is not new for Adhir Chowdhury. He has done a lot of vandalism before this incident," Ahmed told media.
"I would like to draw the attention of the Prime Minister on the matter. Moreover, the state government should act on it and law should take its own course," he said.
"Such an incident never happened in Bengal before," Ahmed said.
Attacking the Congress over the incident, TMC MP Derek O´Brien on Thursday tweeted: "The party that delivers pious sermons in Jaipur also indulges in mayhem in Murshidabad # Bengal."
