New Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS) A chilly, foggy morning was followed by a warm and sunny afternoon in the capital Wednesday as the maximum temperature settled a notch below average at 23.5 degrees Celsius. The met office has forecast similar weather Thursday.
"There will be light mist in the morning tomorrow (Thursday), afternoon would be sunny and warm," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 23 and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively, the IMD official added.
Wednesday's minimum temperature was a notch below average at 10.1 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels wavered between a high of 98 percent and a low of 55 percent.
According to IMD, the national capital is likely to receive rain and thunder showers Saturday onwards.
"There is possibility of rain and thundershowers Saturday due to western disturbance," an IMD official said.
Tuesday's maximum temperature settled three notches below average at 22 degrees Celsius and the minimum was average for this time of year, at 11.2 degrees Celsius.
