Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday said he has no plans to withdraw support to the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.

"We don´t want the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and their allies to bring the government down. Why should we bring the government down for eight to nine months?" Mulayam Singh Yadav told Network 18.

India´s main opposition BJP on Friday said the government will not last its full term.

"The government will not last its full term and and mid-term elections seem to be inevitable," BJP leader Balbir Punj told media.

Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday slammed the Congress and called the ruling party as one of cheats and clever people.

He used expressions like "dhokebaaz" and "chalak" (cheats, clever) for Congress at a rally at Sefai (Saifai) under Etawah district in Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress depends on SP´s support at the Centre after the pullout by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) over the Sri Lanka issue last week.
