International World Water Day (WWD) celebrated on March 22nd every year observes the significance of freshwater and draws the attention of the public to manage their water resources well.
The day has been marked as World Water Day by The United Nations General Assembly.

As the world gears up to celebrate World Water Day on March 22nd, the UN estimates that more than one in six people worldwide do not have access to 20-50 liters (5-13 gallons) of safe freshwater a day to ensure their basic needs for drinking, cooking and cleaning.
