A photo tribute to Mrinal Sen

Newly opened Camerina camera store cum photo gallery at the E-Mall of Kolkata commemorated the 91st birth anniversary of legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen with a photo exhibition on him.

Some of the vibrant images of Sen and his work taken by lensmen Pratap Das Gupta and Dipanjan Ghosh are displayed at the studio.

Filmmakers like Raja Sen and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury along with actress Sreela Majumdar, painter Wasim Kapoor, dancer Sukalyan, journalist Goutam Bhattacharya and some other well known personalities were present at the event.

Director Raja Sen said, "After seeing the photos, it feels that Mrinal Da is present here with us."

Sreela Majumdar, who acted in several Sen films, said, "Mrinal Sen created me. Most of my movies are with him and it feels great to be a part of this exhibition. Whatever I am is all because of him, so I feel very happy that I am here in his 91st birthday."

Sukalyan said, "This type of gallery is mainly seen in foreign countries. I am very proud that I am witnessing such a photo gallery here."

Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury said, "I am in love with Mrinal Sen's films. I have learnt the making of cinema through his movies. I am more inspired after coming here and watching these photos."

Camerina stated that they believe in youth of today and they chose Mrinal Sen because they believed that no one could be better than him.
