Abu Dhabi holds art competition for traffic awareness

/WAM) Abu Dhabi will hold an art competition to raise awareness about traffic and road safety.

The Grand International Artistic Traffic Competition, launched by Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Department and Saaed Co, has invited participants from across the globe.

The contest, which has received 134,583 entries since last February, seeks to set the world record of being the largest art competition in the world. Registration for the competition will continue till the end of the year.

'This is the first art competition in the world of its kind and we hope that the important message of traffic safety will spread as a result of the thousands of participations,' said Colonel Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harethi, Director of the Department and Chairman of Saeed Co.

The current record for the Largest Art Competition is in the name of India. An event organised by ISKCON in Pune in December last year attracted a total of 141,919 entries from children across India.
