Actor Rishi Kapoor turns 60

One of the most popular romantic heroes of Bollywood, Rishi Kapoor celebrated his 60th birthday on Tuesday.

Wishing Kapoor, actor Chandan Roy Sanyal tweeted: "Happy birthday mr . rishi kapoor for the glorius 60 and the royal 40´s in cinema..cheers"

Singer Sweta Pandit wished: "Happy Birthday to one of our finest actors Rishi Kapoor. He´s always been my fav."

Model and television presenter, Priya Wal, wishing the actor posted on the micro-blogging site: "Happy birthday to the most handsome person Rishi Kapoor ji".

The actor, who hails from a filmy background, is the son of legendary Bollywood star Raj Rapoor and brother of actor Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor.

He made his debut as a child artist in 'Mera Naam Joker', where his father played the lead role.

The actor's first film as a hero was 'Bobby' with Dimple Kapadia, which became a major hit.

He starred in films like 'Karz', 'Prem Rog', 'Coolie', 'Saagar', 'Nagina', 'Chandni', 'Henna', 'Bol Radha Bol', 'Deewana', 'Hum Tum', 'Fanaa', 'Namaste London', 'Love Aaj Kal' and 'Patiala House'.

Kapoor won a National Film Award in the category of Best Child Artist for 'Mera Naam Joker', and a Filmfare award for 'Bobby'.

The actor's pairing with his wife Neetu Singh Kapoor has always been admired.

The couple together was seen in superhit films like 'Khel Khel Mein', 'Kabhie Kabhie', 'Amar Akbar Anthony' and 'Doosra Aadmi'.

The actor's son Ranbir Kapoor is equally successful as his father and is the new generation heartthrob.

Kapoor will soon be seen in Karan Johar's much-awaited film 'Student of the Year'.
