Mumbai: Ronit Roy, who was arrested earlier for allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident has been released on a surety of Rs 12,000.
According to reports, he ran into another car while returning home from a Diwali party. The police have asked for a medical report to verify if the actor had consumed alcohol or other intoxicants prior to driving.
The accident has reportedly injured three persons. Their injuries are serious but not critical.
Roy, a highly-acclaimed television star, is currently playing the lead role in the hit serial Adaalat, as advocate KD Pathak.
He has won the Filmfare for his role as an oppressive father in the 2010 film, Udaan.
