The Mumbai Court on Monday acquitted four youngsters accused in the Adnan Patrawala murder case of 2007.
The four people accused in the case- Sujit Nair, Amit Kaushal, Ayush Bhat and Rajeev Dhariya- were acquitted after the prosecution had failed to produce evidence in the court, media reports said on Monday.
The fifth person arrested in connection to the case is tried in a juvenile court as he is a minor.
Sixteen-year-old Adnan was killed in Mumbai on Aug 19, 2007 allegedly by a group that befriended him from a social media site.
Adnan was allegedly kidnapped and the kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore from his family.
Police had found his body in Navi Mumbai´s Palm Beach Road. He was reportedly strangled to death.
The police had charged the accused people with kidnapping, murder, extortion and destruction of evidence.
