The woman cricketer, who has accused former joint secretary of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association and convener of its under-19 selection committee Alpesh Shah of molestation, today said that after the incident, she "has stopped playing cricket".
The young cricketer, who is 18 years old, today recorded her statement before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Savita Singh under section 164 of Criminal Procedure Code.
"After that incident, I have stopped playing cricket. Now I want justice. I have full faith in the court," she said, talking to reporters later.
She rejected Shah's claim that she made the accusation because of her non-selection in the state's under-19 team.
"This team was selected on October 7 while the incident (sexual assault) took place on September 23," she said.
After the allegations surfaced on November 27, Shah stepped down as MPCA Joint Secretary. Madhya Pradesh High Court yesterday restrained police from arresting him until the probe is over.
