Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP) state executive on Saturday passed a resolution praising the work done by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in the last four months.
The move came apparently as an attempt to suppress a controversy over SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, father of Akhilesh, reportedly expressing displeasure at the new government's track record.
Saturday's resolution passed in the meeting in which Mulayam was present, praised the efforts of Akhilesh government in restoring democracy in the state and working towards fulfilling the promises made in the assembly elections.
It also expressed gratitude over the faith shown by the voters in the leaderships of Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son.
Earlier this week a Mulayam Singh Yadav had expressed his displeasure over the performance of the government during a meeting of party legislators and ministers, media reports had said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday had said he will take all possible steps to make Mulayam 'happy'.
Akhilesh was the star of the 2012 assembly polls having led a 224 seat victory of the SP in the 403 member assembly, ousting the Mayawati government and also negating the effect of Rahul Gandhi in the state.
