Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said he will take all possible steps to make Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav 'happy'.
Akhilesh´s statement came after Mulayam said he was not happy with the state government as it was not meeting targets.
"Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) is our leader. If we have committed mistakes then his anger is justified," Akhilesh said on Wednesday.
He said the Samajwadi Party-led state government will follow the ´advice´ of Mulayam.
"We will work to make him happy," he said.
Mulayam reportedly voiced his displeasure over the government during a meeting of SP MLAs at the Chief Minister´s residence on Tuesday.
He said the government should work hard to fulfill the promises made by it during its campaigning for the state Assemble election earlier this year.
Akhilesh was the star of the 2012 assembly polls having led a 224 seat victory of the SP in the 403 member assembly, ousting the Mayawati government and also negating the effect of Rahul Gandhi in the state.
