Amara Raja revenue grows 44%

Mumbai, Feb 14 (IBNS) Industrial and Automotive Battery major Amara Raja Batteries Limited has reported Net Sales of Rs. 6122 million in Q3FY12 against Rs.4250 million in Q3FY11, a growth of 44%.

For the quarter ended December 31, 2011, Gross Sales stood at Rs. 7260 million (Rs. 5040 million); Profit Before Tax (PBT) at Rs. 980 million (Rs. 589 million); Profit After Tax (PAT) at Rs. 659 million (Rs. 397 million).

Commenting on the Q3 performance, Jayadev Galla, Managing Director, Amara Raja Batteries said, "We are happy to report record numbers for a quarter as well as for a 9 month-period. Both our business units viz., Industrial and Automotive have reported double digit growth and gained market shares."

K. Suresh, Chief Financial Officer, said, "The expansion programs announced earlier have been completed and the additional supplies are expected shortly. The Company enjoys free cash of over Rs.1000 million at the end of Q3."
