American held in Pakistan

Islamabad, Feb 14 (IANS) An American was detained Tuesday at Pakistan's Peshawar airport for carrying a dozen bullets, officials said.

Airport security personnel detained William Charles, reported Online news agency.

About a dozen bullets of a pistol were recovered from Charles, who was identified as diplomat working in the US consulate in Peshawar.

Charles was taken into custody when he was about to board an Islamabad-bound flight from Peshawar.

The US embassy said the consulate employee enjoys diplomatic immunity.
