Doctors treating veteran social activist and anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare have said he will be discharged on Sunday morning.
Speaking to journalists in Pune city on Saturday, Dr K H. Sancheti gave a detailed account of Anna's health.
"Today, Anna's health is very good. It has significantly improved since yesterday. We conducted all the tests today; everything is normal. Today, he also did the static cycling exercise and he wants to be discharged. So, we are going to discharge him tomorrow morning," said Sancheti.
Hazare's rapid improvement has been attributed to a positive response to medication and treatment.
"All the reports as of now are normal. There has been a significant improvement in his health within seven days, which we were expecting after a month. Even laboratory reports indicate a lot of improvement. We are very happy with the progress," said Dr. Suruchi.
The Gandhian activist galvanised middle-class anger with his anti-corruption agenda and hunger strikes in April and August.
Hazare was forced to cut short his third hunger strike last month after a team of specialists advised him to start eating again on the second day of his fast, citing low blood pressure, weakness and threat to his kidneys. (ANI)
