This was the fourth attack on Indians in Britain the last two months. The last three incidents proved to be fatal.

Scotland Yard said 11 people have been arrested in connection with the assault.

Praveen Reddy, an MBA student at a business school in the British capital, was allegedly stabbed at his apartment in New Hampshire, his family in Hyderabad said.

The family, residing at L.B. Nagar on the city outskirts, received information from the hospital authorities, who asked them to rush to London.

Praveen's father Sudhakar Reddy has urged the Andhra Pradesh government to help the family in obtaining visa.

A quarrel between two groups of students who hailed from Andhra Pradesh on some issue is believed have led to the attack.

Krishna spoke to Acting High Commissioner Rajesh Prasad and instructed him to extend all possible help to the injured student.

He also spoke to the father of the stabbed student and assured him of all help in getting visa, government sources in New Delhi said.

The sources said that the high commission officials in Britain were coordinating with the doctors treating Praveen. The external affairs ministry plans to take up the matter with the British High Commission in New Delhi to ensure speedy visa to his parents, said the sources.
