Apollo conducts life support training workshop

Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, a leading hospital in Kolkata, organised a special two-hour workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) for sixteen women FICCI representatives from different walks of life.

This informative training program focussed on the techniques that can be utilised for the management of emergency health conditions without the use of medicines and drugs. The short course on BLS enables laypersons to master life-saving skills.

The training session was conducted by the Emergency experts led by Dr Arijit Bose, HOD - Emergency, Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, who demonstrated how basic health hazards like cardiac arrest, drowning and choking can be salvaged through simple procedures which do not involve the consumption of medicines or drugs.

The BLS training module has been designed as per the AHA (American Heart Association) guidelines to provide hands on training in order to save lives.

Speaking on this training program, Dr Rupali Basu, Chief Executive Officer - Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals said, "I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our friends from FICCI who have been a part of the workshop and we sincerely hope that they will benefit from the learnings that they take back from this session today."

Dr. Arijit Bose, HOD, Department of Emergency, Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, said, "The Basic Life Support training program should be undertaken by one and all to deal with various emergencies that may occur in our daily lives. These simple techniques can help even a layperson to save a life.

"This workshop will enlighten the participants and will help them deal with unforeseen emergencies henceforth."
