Ardass Diwas was held at the Akal Takht here for the first time in 26 years on Friday to honour the more than 30 people who were killed Hond-Chillar village in Rewari District at the height of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

The event was organized and observed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandhak committee (SGPC).

Nearly 3000 Sikhs were killed by violent mobs across India soon after the assassination of former prime minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.

Sikh leaders have demanded that those guilty of instigating and leading the riots should be brought to justice. (ANI)
