Mumbai: In another shocking incident, following the outrage over the recent arrest of two Thane girls for a Facebook comment on Bal Thackeray, two men from Mumbai were arrested and held in jail for 12 days for their Facebook comments on politicians.

The two men, Mayank Mohan Sharma and KVJ Rao, were arrested in May this year and might lose their jobs following their arrest. Both the men are Air India employees.

In another case of the dangerous Section 66A act being misused, the men were arrested for "objectionable content" and were, according to the men, given "no reasons for the arrest as well"

They were arrested in May on the basis of a complaint that was apparently filed last year. The story only broke out recently as the men chose to break their silence for the first time on Headlines Today on Friday. Out on bail, they gave their version of the events and the alleged harassment they faced behind bars for 12 days.

The two had allegedly expressed lewd jokes on politicians, including the prime minister Manmohan Singh, and morphed the Congress party's election flag to express their angst against politicians. The men also claimed that their personal enmity with someone in Air India led to the complaint being filed against them.
